Summary
QKB does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. The app has no accounts, advertising, tracking, analytics, or developer-operated online service. Shortcut matching and actions happen locally on your Mac.
Keyboard, mouse, and scroll input
QKB receives system-wide keyboard, mouse, modifier, and scroll event information only so it can recognize the triggers you configure and perform their assigned actions. QKB does not create a keystroke log, store text you type, record the content of other apps, or transmit input data.
Application-specific shortcuts
If you limit a shortcut to a particular app, QKB checks the frontmost app’s bundle identifier to decide whether that shortcut should run. It does not store an application activity history or report which apps you use.
macOS permissions
QKB uses Input Monitoring to detect configured global triggers. It uses Shortcut Output permission, shown by macOS under Accessibility, to send only the actions you configure. These permissions can be changed at any time in System Settings.
QKB does not request Full Disk Access and does not use these permissions to monitor, profile, or collect your activity.
Preset files
QKB reads or writes a .qkbpreset file only
when you explicitly choose to import or export one through
the standard macOS file panel. Presets remain on your Mac
and are not uploaded.
Information stored on your Mac
QKB stores its settings locally in the app’s sandboxed macOS container. These settings can include your shortcut triggers, assigned actions, application scopes, folders, presets, Open at Login preference, and local migration or repair information.
This information is not sent to the developer or any third party. You can remove shortcuts and presets within QKB, or remove the app and its container to delete its local data.
Built-in actions
Built-in actions are performed locally using macOS system services when you trigger them. QKB does not send action history or shortcut usage information to the developer.
Network access and external links
QKB does not use a developer-operated server. If you select the Privacy Policy or Support link, macOS opens that page in your default web browser. Your browser and the destination website handle that visit under their own settings and policies.
When you download QKB from this website, the website uses a signed anonymous visitor identifier to count no more than one qualified QKB download within each hourly window. The counter does not collect your name or email address and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Data retention and deletion
Because QKB does not collect data on developer-operated servers, there is no server-side user data to retain or delete. Local settings remain on your Mac until you change or remove them, or remove the app and its container.
Children’s privacy
QKB does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else.
Changes to this policy
If QKB’s data practices change, this policy and the app’s App Store privacy information will be updated before the changed version is distributed.
