Summary
QZP does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. The app has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, or developer-operated online service. ZIP creation happens locally on your Mac.
Files and Finder selections
When you use a configured shortcut, QZP asks Finder for the files and folders you currently selected. It uses their local file locations only to create the ZIP archive you requested.
Before reading file contents or creating an archive, QZP checks that the selection is inside a folder or drive you explicitly allowed through the standard macOS folder-selection panel. QZP creates the ZIP locally beside the selected items. It does not upload file names, file locations, file contents, or ZIP archives.
QZP uses the macOS Automation permission only to read Finder’s current selection. It does not change the Finder selection or use Finder to move, rename, delete, open, or modify items.
Information stored on your Mac
QZP stores its settings locally in the app’s macOS container. These settings can include:
- Your configured keyboard shortcuts
- Random filename options
- ZIP exclusion preferences
- Whether you enabled Open at Login
- Whether you dismissed the introduction
- Security-scoped bookmarks for folders and drives you allowed
These settings and bookmarks are not sent to the developer or any third party. You can remove an allowed location from QZP at any time.
Network access and external links
QZP does not make network requests. If you select the Privacy Policy or Support link, macOS opens that page in your default web browser. Your browser and the destination website handle that visit under their own settings and policies.
When you download QZP from this website, the website uses a signed anonymous visitor identifier to count no more than one qualified QZP download within each hourly window. The counter does not collect your name or email address and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Data retention and deletion
Because QZP does not collect data on developer-operated servers, there is no server-side user data to retain or delete. Local settings remain on your Mac until you change them, remove an allowed location, reset the app’s data, or remove the app and its container.
Children’s privacy
QZP does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else.
Changes to this policy
If QZP’s data practices change, this policy and the app’s App Store privacy information will be updated before the changed version is distributed.
