QIP Support

Help with selecting a source image, naming your package, choosing an export folder, and creating PNG, ICNS, and ICO files on macOS.

Email QIP Support

Getting started

  1. Drag a square image into QIP, or select Choose Image…
  2. Use the default package name or enter your own.
  3. Select Generate Icon Package and choose an export folder.
  4. QIP creates the package and reveals it in Finder.

What QIP creates

Each export contains twelve standard and Retina-ready PNG files, one macOS ICNS file, and one multi-size ICO file. If a package with the same name already exists, QIP creates a new numbered folder instead of replacing your previous files.

If an image cannot be used

QIP accepts PNG, JPEG, HEIC, TIFF, and BMP images. Confirm that the selected image has equal width and height. A square image of at least 1024 × 1024 pixels is recommended for the best result.

If an export cannot be completed

Choose the destination again with the macOS folder picker and make sure the folder is writable. QIP accesses only the source image and destination explicitly selected by you.
