- Open QNP and begin typing in the note it creates for you.
- Create another note or use the Open Note picker to return to an existing one.
- Use QNP’s controls to format Markdown, choose a background, and adjust the note window.
- Export or print a note when you need a copy outside QNP. Your changes are saved automatically.
Local and iCloud editions
QNP Local, downloaded from this website, stores notes only on the Mac where they were created. It does not connect to iCloud.
The Mac App Store edition synchronizes notes and note backgrounds privately through the iCloud account signed in on your compatible Macs.
If notes are not synchronizing
First confirm that you installed the Mac App Store edition. Then check that every Mac uses the same Apple Account, iCloud Drive is enabled, and the Mac has an internet connection. Reopen QNP after changing iCloud settings so it can refresh its private copy.
If two Macs edit the same note at the same time, QNP preserves a conflict copy instead of silently discarding your text.
Exporting and printing
Choose a destination you can write to when exporting. Printing and PDF creation use the standard macOS print panel, so confirm the selected printer or PDF destination there if the operation cannot be completed.
