Help with creating clean ZIP archives from Finder, choosing allowed locations, configuring shortcuts, and resolving macOS permission problems.

Email QZP Support

Getting started

  1. Open QZP and choose the keyboard shortcut you want to use.
  2. Allow the folders or drives where you want QZP to create archives.
  3. Select one or more files or folders in Finder.
  4. Use your QZP shortcut. The ZIP archive is created locally beside the selected items.

If Finder selection is not detected

QZP uses the macOS Automation permission only to read the current Finder selection. Confirm Finder is the active app, select the items again, and allow QZP to communicate with Finder if macOS asks.

If an archive cannot be created

The selected items must be inside a folder or drive you explicitly allowed in QZP. Add the location again with the standard macOS folder picker and confirm you can write to that location.

If the shortcut is not responding, check that it does not conflict with a macOS or another app shortcut.

Archive options

Review QZP’s random filename and exclusion options if the archive name or included files are not what you expected. These settings apply locally on your Mac.
